Run in the Berlin, Chicago or New York marathons for Health Poverty Action

Health Poverty Action is looking for enthusiastic runners to take part in some of the world’s greatest marathons in Berlin, Chicago and New York. What we ask in return is that you pay a £150 deposit and raise £1,500 for our work around the world.

New York

2009 ING New York Marathon

Date: 1st November 2009

Number of runners: 105,000

The ING New York City Marathon is one of the world’s great road races, attracting a top class field. The course winds through the streets of New York's five boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. The route unites dozens of culturally and ethnically diverse neighbourhoods, passing over five bridges before finishing in Central Park.


Berlin

2009 Berlin Marathon

Date: 20th September 2009

Number of runners: 40,000

The Berlin Marathon is rapidly becoming one of the most prestigious races on the international marathon calendar. This fast, flat course starts and finishes near the world-famous Brandenburg Gate. You will be cheered on by over one million spectators lining the route - the atmosphere promises to be electric!


Chicago

2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Date: 11th October 2009
Number of runners: 45,000

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is known for being a fast, flat course which is great for generating personal bests. The course takes you through the north, west and south sides of the city passing through 29 diverse and historic neighbourhoods.


To secure a place with Health Poverty Action in any of these marathons we will ask you to pay a refundable deposit for the race entry fee. Then all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship. You must be at least 18 years old to run in any of these international marathons.
