The Stamp Aid Depot

All of your stamps went directly to the Stamp Aid depot in Liverpool. This is where everything happened, from sorting through the different types of stamps sent in to counting how many so it could be reported on Blue Peter's show. Most of the sorting and counting was done by volunteers from around Liverpool.

Blue Peter's Liz Barker visited the depot for a special edition of the show and saw how the whole operation ran.

She met the postman responsible for delivering all the stamps to the depot (pictured left) - and saw just how tough his job was!

She also met some of the many volunteers that have been helping sort the mountains of stamps that you have collected.

Liz even spent some time helping the operation, when she leant a hand separating out the items received. She soon found out that it wasn't an easy job. She had to sort British presentation packs from album leaves, old postcards from mint face value covers...

The depot is now closed, but you can continue to collect stamps for Health Unlimited! For more information about how to collect your stamps and where to send them click here.
